Job Description

Summary



Bring structure service and consistency to the courtroom. As a Court Program Specialist with the City of Medford youll play a vital role in supporting both traditional and alternative court programs that impact daily operations and client outcomes. Whether youre coordinating Outreach Court logistics monitoring program compliance or walking someone through their next steps with clarity and professionalism this role blends administrative precision with meaningful public service.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in social work judicial legal or law enforcement field which must include clerical administrative support or customer relations experience.
  • Bachelors degree in social work psychology criminal justice or other specific area of study as deemed applicable may substitute for two (2) years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Judicial experience especially jury administration and management.

Available Schedules:

  • 8 hours daily Monday - Friday
  • Opportunity for alternate schedule after the first 90-days:
    • 9-80 (nine-hour workdays with a three-day weekend every other week)

  • Scheduled salary increases and a potential 2.5% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) are anticipated effective July 1 2025
  • Educational incentive pay:
    Additional 2.5% for an Associates Degree
    Additional 5% for a Bachelors Degree


The anticipated hiring range for the Court Program Specialistposition is $25.86(first step) to $27.16or $28.52(second or third step).The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education experience andqualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Six steps are included in this salary range allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This is an office-based position with a typical office environment including comfortable temperature and lighting and the usual level of office distractions. The role requires interaction with the public which may include individuals who are experiencing emotional stress. While minimal the position may also involve travel to different court locations.

This position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods with occasional movement around the office. This may include bending stooping twisting and reaching to access files or equipment. Employees must be able to operate standard office equipment including computers printers and telephones. Good eyesight hearing and hand-eye coordination are essential for this role.
