USCs School of Cinematic Arts Office of Student Services is seeking a Student Services Advisor to join our team. This position will provide academic advising to undergraduate students majoring in Cinema and Media Studies or enrolled in an SCA minor program of study.
In their advising role the Student Services Advisor I is committed to the overall success of their assigned undergraduate students. The Student Services Advisor helps students understand degree and minor requirements; develop cultivate and transform academic goals and educational plans; understand academic policies and procedures; select majors and minors; explore curricular and co-curricular opportunities (i.e. research study abroad service learning etc.); integrate career development opportunities address concerns and challenges that impact academic success; and connect with university resources. Additionally the Student Services Advisor will provide support for the Office of Students Services in disseminating information to our student body events and programming petitions and forms and various academic and developmental initiatives.
Duties for this position may include:
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelors degree Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 1-2 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Student services experience student personal administration academic advising
The hourly range for this position is $28.43 - $31.92. When extending an offer of employment the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position the candidates work experience education/training key skills internal peer equity federal state and local laws contractual stipulations grant funding as well as external market and organizational considerations.
