JOB SUMMARY The Benton County Health Department is seeking a Certified Recovery Mentor to join the Behavioral Health Division Substance Use Disorder Team. In this role the Certified Recovery Mentor will work within a multi-disciplinary team supporting individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and addiction disorders. A prerequisite for this role is that a Certified Recovery Mentor must have personal experience in recovery enabling them to extend meaningful support to others in similar situations. Recovery Mentors use their shared experiences to foster understanding respect and mutual empowerment while helping people become and stay engaged in the recovery process. Services will be delivered both in office settings and out in the community. Substance Use Disorder services are co-located with Behavioral Health Primary Care and Dental. Strong communication skills and a desire to work with colleagues are highly valued and needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS(PS1) The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
One year of technical training beyond high school in substance abuse social work or closely related field; AND
One year of professional work experience in social work psychology counseling recovery orientated peer services mental health outreach or closely related experience; AND
Must possess a Certified Recovery Mentor certification obtained through MHACBO at time of hire.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.
Special Requirements The following special requirements are required for this position:
To be eligible for this position you must be a self-identified individual currently or formerly receiving addiction or mental health services.
Hiring is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
Valid drivers license. (This position requires driving and may require use of a personal vehicle.)
