Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing Manager for Schindler Elevator Corporation at its Morristown NJ office.
Responsible for implementing developing and aligning several different supply chain strategies to deliver the most cost-effective methods for indirect spend categories as well as regional and local field spend across the organization. Deploy strategic initiative for Field Procurement in partnership and provide Field Ops Purchasing oversight. Work on vendor selection contract management and negotiations. Provide material analysis and strategic spares purchasing for our field operations.
Primary duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
(25%) Implementation of Tail spend / automated procurement software. Lead the implementation of Procurement software as a cutting-edge automated procurement tool for the business special attention to ensuring change management in field operations so that optimum value is created in efficiency and cost.
(40%) Managing sub-contractor spend and tools and operating materials spend. The role involves effectively managing subcontractor and general contractor spend for medium to large field projects negotiating for the best value for Field Operations supporting Business Transformation projects and meeting or exceeding profit plan goals. It also includes collaborating with field leadership to identify new products and services ensuring compliance with procurement best practices and coordinating all operational procurement activities to support business unit/manufacturing locations. Additionally the role involves developing appropriate controls to ensure compliant processes and procedures as well as cultivating diverse supplier relationships and reporting project-based diverse sourcing opportunities to regional teams..
(35%) Change management in the field sourcing functions. The role involves collaborating and leading cross-functional teams in SSO and Field Supply Chain Operations creating a partnership culture with the field organization providing input to category management ensuring compliance with safety procedures maintaining relationships with suppliers and internal customers tracking project-based cost savings aligning procurement metrics with regional leadership and developing an understanding of field personnel needs. Additionally the role includes leading NPMS sourcing teams communicating to ensure alignment with SECs strategies leading other category managers performing assigned duties driving initiatives with regional entities and ensuring early TPL involvement in procurement activities. It also involves effectively maintaining SAP Parts Catalog Pricing related to supplier relationships and agreements.
Job requirements: Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Business Management Engineering or other closely related field of study; plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the offered position or other closely related positions. Experiences may be concurrent. Must be willing to travel domestically minimum 20%.
