Reporting to the Clinical Manager for IWK School Mental Health Services the school based clinician is responsible for working as part of the SchoolsPlus team to deliver diagnostic therapeutic and consultation services to children/youth families and staff within a designated Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial (CSAP) family of schools.
The SchoolsPlus Clinician will practice the principles and philosophy of CAPA (Choice and Partnership Approach) in all areas of position responsibility. With a focus on providing early identification and intervention for mental health and addictions issues the clinician will provide individual and group therapies referrals to the Mental Health and Addictions Services a bridge to support reintegration to school following treatment and Mental Health/Addictions education and consultation to school staff. The clinician will integrate prevention and health promotion into clinical practice provide input into programming and participate in evaluation research.
Services will be provided throughout the year including summer vacation and other school holidays based on the identified needs of the client population the school system and the IWK MHA Program.
37.5 hours weekly Monday-Friday flexibility in working hours required depending on caseload.

Le clinicien en sant mentale dans les coles qui relve du gestionnaire clinique des services de sant mentale du IWK Health Centre est responsable de travailler dans le cadre de lquipe colesPlus afin doffrir des services de diagnostic de thrapie de couselling et de consultation aux enfants aux jeunes aux familles et au personnel dans les coles primaires et secondaire de la rgion mtropolitaines du Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP).
Le clinicien en sant mental de lquipe colesPlus met en uvre les principes et la philosophie de lapproche lie au choix et au partenariat (CAPA) dans tous les domaines qui relvent de ce poste. Le clinicien sera principalement responsable de lintervention prcoce dans les questions de sant mentale et de dpendances en offrant des thrapies individuelles ou de groupes des renvois aux services de sant mentale et de prvention des dpendances du soutien la rintgration scolaire aprs le traitement ainsi que des services dducation et de consultation concernant la sant mentale et les dpendances au personnel scolaire. Le clinicien intgrera la promotion de la sant et la prvention dans la pratique clinique et participera la programmation et aux tudes dvaluation.
Les services sont offerts longueur danne y compris pendant lt et tous autres congs scolaires selon les besoins cerns de la clientle le systme scolaire et le programme de sant mentale et de traitement des dpendances du IWK.
375 heures par semaine du lundi au vendredi selon la charge de travail
