Were looking for a full-time staffVice President Quality and Continuous Improvement to join our Day & Zimmermann team.
In the role of VP Quality and Continuous Improvement the individual will have overarching responsibility for defining and spearheading the strategic direction of quality management within the Maintenance & Construction business groups as well as supporting other D&Z companies as required. This position involves the development and implementation of innovative processes and procedures that ensure the highest standards of quality assurance and quality control across all operational activities including NDE Welding Audits Vendor Surveillances Continuous Improvements and comprehensive Code/Regulatory compliance. The role demands extensive engagement with markets where DZMC currently operates and an exploration of new markets and projects extending beyond the confines of D&Zs existing Quality Programs.
The incumbent will skillfully manage and lead the Quality organizations within the US and Canada providing pivotal support to the PMO and Project and Market Sector Leadership teams. They will leverage robust quality assurance and quality control expertise particularly in high-stakes industries like Nuclear Fossil DOE DoD Renewables and Industrial sectors. Key elements of the role include: pioneering Project and Quality program and procedure development; fostering Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement Programs that drive Human Performance /EXCEL; and maintaining governance over ISO 9001 and other ISO Codes and Standards to ensure Process Excellence and Procedure Governance. As a Lead Auditor the VP will oversee rigorous vendor audits surveillances and inspections to uphold and exceed quality standards. Moreover the role encompasses overseeing ASME/NBIC Code Stamp programs and adding additional Code Stamps to support new nuclear construction and ensuring robust compliance and excellence in all facets of quality management.
Lead the DZMC Quality & Technical Support group comprising Quality Human Performance Continuous Improvement and Process Excellence initiatives for all DZMC companies in the US and Canada ensuring seamless integration and operation across operating and Market Sectors to elevate corporate standards and quality benchmarks
Establish and supervise comprehensive organizational capabilities to conduct and sustain rigorous surveys and audits that guarantee compliance with DZMC Quality Programs across Canada and the US including the critical task of approving suppliers and contractors for nuclear and governmental projects per federal regulatory and jurisdictional stipulations and compliance with all technical and procurement requirements
Pioneer the development of project and quality programs by architecting and nurturing corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives that significantly enhance Continuous Improvement and drive organizational excellence to new heights
Develop and administer robust monitoring and inspection frameworks that assure adherence to performance expectations and swiftly rectify quality-related challenges with decisive action clear communication and targeted corrective measures. This includes managing quality subcontractors under D&Zs overarching Quality Program
Align DZMC Quality & Technical Support programs and personnel resources strategically with the overarching business plan and key business objectives ensuring that all projects adhere to consistent administrative and process standards. Supervise the ASME and National Board Code Stamps certification process and usage on relevant projects
Create and deploy cutting-edge quality assurance and control processes with a dedicated focus on NDE Welding and extensive Code/Regulatory compliance to maintain and elevate quality management excellence. Oversee ASME/NBIC Code Stamp Programs to ensure top-tier compliance and standards. Provide technical input into adding additional ASME/NBIC Code Stamps to support future endeavors
Strong business acumen with significant management/supervisory experience
Strong background in the area construction quality with clear understanding of Quality Processes
SME with ability to effectively share knowledge and experiences with others
Effective verbal and communication skills
Ability to influence across organizational boundaries
Knowledge/experience in Nuclear Fossil Industrial DOE DOD renewables other government agencies ISO - 9001 US & Canada codes and standards
Bachelors or Technical Degree required
20 years quality related experience in the power renewable government and process industries required
In compliance with this states pay transparency laws the salary range for this role is $176960 - $265440. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire schedule type and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
