Who are we looking for
Our Engineering Design Organization is looking for a proactive go-getter with a can-do attitude who thrives on working collaboratively with various teams in an agile and fast-paced environment. As our Electrical Contract Administrator & Inspectorworking out one of our GTA offices you will play an instrumental role on the Power & Lighting team supporting design and construction projects involving traffic signals systems street lighting and power distribution systems.
Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Delivering projects involving traffic signalization and street lighting systems with a possibility of expanding into underground / overhead electrical distribution systems
- Contract administration duties
- Preparation of detailed specifications and schedules of quantities construction cost estimates and bid analyses
- Conducting field investigations inspections assessments etc.
- Coordination and liaison with clients approving authorities and various utility companies
- Coordination with internal design team
- Project management
- Mentoring of junior inspectors
- Maintaining and developing inspection documentation and checklists
What you will bring to the team:
- College diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or degree in Electrical Engineering
- Certified IMSA Traffic Signals Inspector
- Extensive experience with commissioning and testing of traffic signals systems - minimum 8 years
- Thorough knowledge of industry standards and design guidelines including Ontario Electrical Safety Code Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Ontario Traffic Manual OTM Book 7 12 and 12A and applicable TAC guidelines
- Strong organizational interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work on multiple projects
- Attention to detail
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent computer skills
- G class drivers license
