A faith-based nonprofit organization in Louisville is seeking a dedicated Food Pantry & Delivery Assistant to support its mission of addressing food insecurity through compassionate hands-on service. This vital role combines logistics customer service and faith-based outreach to ensure that food donations are received stored and delivered with care and dignity.
Food Pick-Up & Delivery
- Safely pick up food donations and orders from partner organizations.
- Deliver food to clients satellite locations and community partners in a timely respectful manner.
Pantry Organization & Inventory
- Organize and stock food items using proper food rotation methods (FIFO).
- Maintain daily temperature logs for chillers and freezers.
- Monitor inventory and report shortages or needs to leadership.
Client Support & Distribution
- Assist with packing food boxes and distributing items during pantry hours.
- Provide friendly respectful service to clients and volunteers.
- Help maintain a clean safe and organized pantry and warehouse environment.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols during storage transport and distribution.
- Report vehicle issues safety hazards or concerns to supervisors promptly.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record (required)
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds (required)
- Experience in delivery food service or warehouse work (preferred)
- Nonprofit or faith-based service experience (preferred)
