Here is a high level job summary Pediatric Ambulatory Clinic RN Traveler the expectations of the role: Delivers comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients (newborn to adolescent) in an outpatient ambulatory setting ensuring age-appropriate communication and interventions. Assesses plans and implements care for acute and chronic pediatric conditions collaborating closely with providers and multidisciplinary teams. Administers and documents pediatric immunizations per CDC and state-specific immunization schedules; monitored for adverse reactions and provided vaccine education to caregivers. Ensures adherence to routine well-child visits developmental screenings and vaccination catch-up protocols through proactive patient outreach and follow-up. Coordinates prior authorizations (PA) for specialty referrals medications diagnostic imaging and therapies in alignment with insurance and clinic policies. Maintains strict adherence to infection control practices including isolation precautions and hand hygiene protocols specific to pediatric populations. Demonstrates proficiency in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); responded to pediatric emergencies and assisted in stabilization as needed. Performs routine pediatric procedures including vital signs vision and hearing screenings point-of-care testing and specimen collection (nasal throat urine stool etc.). Provides family-centered education on illness prevention chronic disease management (e.g. asthma diabetes) and medication adherence tailored to developmental level. Utilizes EHR systems to accurately document nursing assessments patient encounters immunizations and follow-up actions. Supports care coordination including referrals to specialists social services and community resources to promote comprehensive pediatric care. Adapts quickly to new clinical environments and protocols as a travel RN maintaining consistent patient safety and care quality across diverse pediatric ambulatory settings. Qualifications: Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Current Registered Nurse California license. BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required. ACLS & PALS required Experience: Three to five years of practical RN experience; outpatient experience preferred. One to two years of practical experience in a physician s office or medical office setting preferred.
