Job Description
Garment Production Manager oversees the entire garment manufacturing process from raw materials to finished goods ensuring timely delivery quality and cost-effectiveness. They are responsible for planning coordinating and controlling all aspects of production including staff management production schedules and quality control.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Planning and Scheduling:
Developing production schedules ensuring resources are available and managing production timelines to meet deadlines.
Coordination and Supervision:
Overseeing the production process coordinating with different departments (design sales etc.) and supervising production staff.
Quality Control:
Implementing and maintaining quality control measures to ensure products meet standards and specifications.
Cost Management:
Monitoring production costs identifying areas for cost reduction and ensuring budget adherence.
Staff Management:
Hiring training and supervising production staff ensuring motivation and productivity.
Inventory Management:
Managing raw materials and finished goods inventory ensuring adequate supplies and minimizing waste.
Problem Solving:
Identifying and addressing production problems implementing solutions and preventing future issues.
Communication:
Communicating with management staff and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and effective collaboration.
Health and Safety:
Ensuring a safe working environment by implementing and enforcing health and safety regulations.
Reporting and Analysis:
Preparing production reports analyzing performance data and identifying areas for improvement.
Example Responsibilities:
Receive production orders and plan accordingly.
Monitor material receipt and quality.
Ensure production activities across departments meet targets.
Oversee worker training safety and performance.
Implement and maintain quality control programs.
Maintain production records and track production progress.
Oversee manufacturing and production processes.
Identify and troubleshoot production problems.
Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed.
Supervise and motivate a team of workers.
Review the performance of subordinates.
Identify training needs.
In essence the Garment Production Manager is a crucial figure in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of a garment factory ultimately contributing to the success of the business.
