Job Description

Adelphi is seeking Phlebotomists to provide services at a facility in Chicago Illinois. The ideal candidates will be responsible for routine and specialized specimen collection processing and administrative tasks necessary for high-quality patient care in compliance with established policies and regulations.

Shift Schedule:

Full-time Phlebotomists: Mon-Fri 5:30am 2pm (40 hrs/week) rotating weekends

Part-time Phlebotomists: 5:30am 8:30am (3 hrs/day 15hrs/week) rotating weekends

Rate: $21

Requirements:

High School Diploma

Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)

CPR Certification

Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience in the last three years.

Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and blood sample collection including blood cultures.

Accession and receive specimens into the laboratory information system.

Process and prepare specimens for reference lab testing.

Provide patient instructions for sample collections (e.g. 24-hour urine).

Transport specimens and handle special requirements.

Answer phones and assist with patient inquiries.

Maintain clean and stocked phlebotomy areas.

Uphold high standards of customer service and interpersonal communication.

Provide clerical support and manage supplies in the draw station.

Any other duties as assigned.
