Job Description

Skyborne Opportunity

We are looking for skilled and talented A&P Mechanics with Quality Assurance Inspection experience. We are an FAA Repair Station; we maintain fifty-four company owned Piper training aircraft. We currently have openings in our Quality Assurance Department for a Training Supervisor and Aircraft Inspectors.

The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for inspection of completed aircraft work to ensure the work meets the quality standards of the company and Federal Regulations. Support and oversight of work in progress OJT training and documentation of provided training.

This includes inspection of structural mechanical and electronic elements of the aircraft measuring wear and assessing whether parts are airworthy.

Inspectors report to the Quality Assurance Supervisor as well as the Chief Inspector for the following:

  • Inspecting work performed by the technicians for quality of work; adherence to Repair Station Procedures; and compliance with applicable Federal Regulations.
  • Ascertaining that all required entries on maintenance forms and work orders used by the Repair Station are properly executed by the responsible individuals and approving aircraft or components for return to service after maintenance.
  • Assuring accurate information in the aircraft maintenance software while closing work orders. Inspectors will sign the authorization returning the aircraft to service.
  • When not inspecting completed work the Repair Station Inspector will provide support and training to the technicians to ensure the quality of work in progress.
  • Inspection of structural mechanical and electronic elements of the aircraft measuring wear and assessing whether parts are airworthy.
  • To ensure that no rejected defective unserviceable or unairworthy parts are installed in any component or article released by the Repair Station and ensuring the proper identification of such parts as stated in the Repair Station Manual.
  • Knowledge of pertinent Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturers company Repair Station manuals and department policies.
  • Understanding FAA Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) and Skyborne Safety Management Systems (SMS) Programs.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Repair Station Training meetings and activities including supporting and promoting the safety culture reporting of all aviation safety related issues via the feedback system and adhere to the related processes.
  • Interacting with the Instructors and Trainees.
  • Travelling aboard company aircraft or vehicles to locations away from Repair Station Facilities to support repair work away from station.
  • Support Skyborne Airline Academy and its subsidiaries commitment to ethical behavior by basing our priorities on lawful and ethical conduct as we deal with workers Customers vendors and others in all of operations.
  • Other tasks may be assigned by the Center Director Head of Aircraft Maintenance Quality Assurance Manager or Chief Inspector.

Qualifications :

Professional requirements are as follows:

  • Minimum experience 5 years as a Licensed A&P Technician. (IA is a plus)
  • General Aviation experience with 100-hour annual inspections sheet metal repairs troubleshooting systems and replacement of parts experience is preferred.
  • Commercial or Corporate Part 145 FAA Repair Station or MRO Quality Assurance experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to concentrate and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain strong safety orientation under challenging circumstances.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • Contingent to employment all candidates must pass a drug screening and background check. TSA background check and badging is also required for your role.

Training will include:

  • Repair Station Training and Inspector responsibilities.
  • Maintenance administration software. (AcMP)
  • Squawk crew procedure training.
  • Assessment of trouble shooting and listening skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to concentrate and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain strong customer orientation under challenging circumstances.


Additional Information :

Benefits:

  • Full Time Shift Hours. 2 Openings: 1st Opening: Monday-Friday 7:00am to 4pm- Second Opening: 11:30pm-7:30am 
  • Salary Range: $32-$37 hour (DOE)
