The Engineering Lead role will play a critical part in driving the development of retail solutions. This role will partner with the Functional Leads Solution Architects and our technology partners to deliver the best solutions to support our retail stores and team members.
As part of the transition of our retail stores technology ecosystem from Woolworths the Engineering Lead will collaborate closely with the Transition program broader technology teams and 3rd party solution partners to provide technical direction and support to the Engineering team members to ensure the successful transition of the e2e stores applications and adherence to best practices and industry standards.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you will form strong trusted relationships with the Transition program and Technology teams more broadly.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:
Responsible for understanding existing store platforms developing implementing maintaining and supporting components and interfaces
Contribute to the design implement and establish software delivery principles standards quality gates and lifecycles
Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycles including supporting continuous improvement processes.
Participate in design discussions and solution design sessions with product management vendors and software development teams.
Interpret the Technical Requirements that Engineers need from Architectural and Business requirements and associated artefacts for systems that need to operate at scale
Design and develop enterprise-grade high-volume application platforms
Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to onshore offshore and vendor teams.
Lead technology teams across the full stack (infra integration backend frontend)
Contribute to the evaluation transitioning prototyping and selection of software solutions.
Deliver Engineering and Assurance strategic goal
Qualifications :
Now lets talk about you:
5 years experience in the support and delivery of technical solutions within complex enterprise environments preferably in retail.
Experienced embedding and implementing modern Software Development practices and methodologies
Experienced at delivering software within a project driven environment
Strong vendor management and external stakeholder management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and influence decision-making.
