Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Engineering anaylst to join our E3 team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of E3 testing across a variety of products to evaluate their performance under electromagnetic environmental conditions. You will work closely with senior engineers to develop implement and refine test methodologies as well as analyze resulting data using specialized software tools. The position also involves contributing to the development and validation of new testing procedures preparing technical reports and ensuring the proper maintenance and reliable operation of all equipment within the Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) test laboratory. In this role you can expect your days to include:

  • Review test plans and procedures to determine test equipment and test configuration requirements
  • Support E3 Design Verification Testing and Qualification
  • Write test plans and test reports
  • Make recommendations to improve test procedures and test methods
  • Maintain a calibration schedule for all the EMI test equipment
  • Conduct root cause analysis on anomalies 
  • Interact with engineering/technical colleagues to determine appropriate fixes when a test failure occurs
  • Participate actively in team meetings to resolve technical resource and schedule issues
  • Provide progress updates to test team leads and management where applicable
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications :

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical/engineering degree (e.g. Physics)
  • 2 years of experience or recent graduates with relevant academic/project work
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Enthusiastic contributor willingness to learn new skills and takes on ownership of work
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills able to act as a self-motivated individual  
  • Knowledge or experience in any of the following is considered an asset:
    • Spectrum analyzers
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Signal generators
    • MIL-STD-461 and other EMI standards
    • Radio Frequency (RF)
    • SW tools such as Tiles! Remcon and/or Matlab

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
