Job Description

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and highly communicative Production Engineer to join our dynamic team at ADaPT. In this role you will act as an essential link primarily between industry stakeholders and our research capabilities transforming innovative ideas into tangible prototypes and commercially viable products.

This role involves a high level of manual handling requiring the ability to safely lift move and manage various materials and equipment on a regular basis.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Leading and supporting design development and prototyping projects from initial concept through validation and production adhering to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Developing expertise in advanced 3D printing and manufacturing technologies utilising diverse materials including polymers metals resins and ceramics.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards conducting risk assessments and adopting best engineering practices across all activities.
  • Acting as a key liaison engaging regularly and effectively with industry partners external suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to undergraduate and postgraduate research students.
  • Maintaining detailed documentation of design processes prototyping production activities and equipment management.

About you
Ideal candidates will:

  • Hold a bachelors degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or a closely related discipline (required).
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills confidently engaging with industry clients and diverse stakeholders.
  • Have an interest or experience in digital design pathways such as working with CAD software (e.g. Autodesk Fusion 360) 3D slicing software (e.g. Preform 3DSprint Eiger) and medical segmentation tools like Simpleware Synopsys.
  • Demonstrate strong self-motivation to continually deepen understanding of manufacturing processes with a focus on 3D printing technologies such as metal polymer and composite printing.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of safety quality and ethical professional conduct.

What we can offer
This is a fixed term (12 months with the possibility of an extension subject to funding) full-time position primarily based at Griffith University Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith Universitys campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full-time equivalent base salary for a HEW Level 6 is in the range $91843 - $97964 per annum plus 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $107456 - $114618 per annum.
