Job Description

As a Systems Administration Team Lead you will manage the stability integrity and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core business and organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring maintaining supporting and optimizing all assigned networked software and associated operating systems database subsystems and Enterprise Applications as well as supervising and developing IT engineers. Identify communicate and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

What you will do:

  • Work with executive team members and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals and to identify and resolve business systems issues related to Technical Architecture Domains.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests including end-user reviews for modified and new systems. 
  • Ensure system connectivity of all servers shared software groupware and other applications.
  • Recommend monitoring and management tools to track application availability. Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems. Provide training to end-users for all modified and new systems. Create and maintain documentation of system configuration mapping processes and service records. Research software and systems products.
  • Operations Monitoring/Systems Administration Support: Gauge effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies to improve or further leverage these systems.
  • Work with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems. Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house systems. Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
  • Resource Management: Supervise a team of System Administrators. Orient train and assign work; evaluate performance; approve time requests; resolve complaints/conflicts; discipline employees; develop and motivate staff by mentoring and providing career coaching.
  • Recommend system backup and other recovery procedures in accordance with QADs disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. 
  • Manage monitor and support enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments (e.g. AWS)
  • Manage incident response and root cause analysis for infrastructure-related issues.

 

 


Qualifications :

  • Education/Licenses: 4-year college or university degree in computer science or software engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 4 to 5 years of experience with team/project management systems planning security principles software troubleshooting and general software management best practices.
  • Experience in AWS infrastructure

Computer skills:

  • Working knowledge of software protocols and Internet standards including TCP/IP VPN Client/Server and Services Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Application support experience to assist with application availability analysis performance and tuning of key applications.
  • Working knowledge of modern Linux and Windows Server OS versions.

Other knowledge or skills:

  • Knowledge of data privacy practices. Excellent written oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. Self-motivated and directed keen attention to detail and customer service orientation. 
  • Project management research analytical and creative problem-solving abilities. Understands and supports diversity; able to establish an effective team.
  • A natural leader who has mentoring skills.
