Sous Chef Luxury Care Home Dining

14 per hour 40 hours per week

Were hiring a Sous Chef for a high-end purpose-built care home opening near Aylesbury. This is a rare opportunity to help launch a brand-new service shaping an exceptional dining experience from day one.

Join a forward-thinking hospitality team in a beautifully designed modern care home where wellbeing nutrition and culinary excellence come first. This is a meaningful chef role where youll create food that comforts delights and supports the health of residents every day.

As Sous Chef youll work closely with the Head Chef to deliver restaurant-quality meals in a care setting. Youll be instrumental in crafting seasonal menus themed dining experiences and daily meals that combine taste nutrition and beautiful presentation.

This is more than just a job in a kitchenits a chance to bring creativity leadership and purpose to a professional cooking environment.

What Were Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef in a professional kitchen
  • Experience in care home or healthcare catering is highly desirable
  • Confidence in planning menus for various dietary needs (e.g. IDDSI allergen-aware)
  • Strong attention to detail food hygiene and safety standards
  • A warm team-focused approach with a passion for supporting others
  • Creative flair and a genuine love for preparing nutritious meals that residents enjoy

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in running the kitchen efficiently and safely
  • Prepare high-quality meals that meet residents individual needs
  • Mentor and support junior kitchen staff
  • Maintain hygiene and safety standards (HACCP temperature logs etc.)
  • Contribute to seasonal and themed menu development
  • Oversee stock control and minimise food waste
