The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a patient-centered team based multi-specialty practice located in central Brooklyn. BSFHC has been providing affordable comprehensive outpatient medical and dental services in an outpatient setting for over 40 years. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) BSFHC serves all of the primary health care needs of families in the heart of North and Central Brooklyn. We are seeking a Full-time a Family Medicine Physician to provide quality competent safe and compassionate care based on established standards in a patient-focused preventative and treatment care. Physician will work closely with a team of professionals to provide culturally sensitive high quality comprehensive health services to the community to achieve expected outcomes and comply with BSFHC Mission.
Duties and Responsibilities included but not limited to the following:
- Conduct age appropriate assessments of patients including history taking and physical examination in accordance with current standards of professional practice regulatory requirements and agency policies and procedures.
- Perform assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner focusing on physiological psychosocial cultural spiritual and cognitive status patient/family education family involvement and patient advocacy
- Assesses patients conditions and age-specific medical needs; sets goals and prescribes appropriate clinical interventions to meet these goals.
- Prescribes appropriate laboratory and diagnosis procedures related to patients health status and facilitates appropriate treatment intervention predicated on results of these procedures.
- Provider shall provide direct clinical care to all patients assigned to Provider in accordance with applicable standards of care BSFHC policies and procedures as applicable.
- Provider will be required to maintain certain good citizenship standards designed to optimize patient care and service and the smooth operation of the Center. Such standards include but are not limited to the following: Accommodating walkin patients arriving for office sessions on time and remaining throughout each session engaging in teamwork with the support staff following procedures and practice guidelines e.g. appropriate clinical charting with complete notes and up-to-date problem and medication lists timely completion of encounter forms completing peer chart audits etc.
- Provider will be required to participate on a rotating basis in the 24 hour on-call phone coverage arrangement that is unit/site-specific. Provider must make every reasonable effort to answer patients phone calls within 30 minutes on the day/evening Provider is on call and to submit all required documentation of the call which will be posted in the medical record
- Provider shall meet specialty and site-specific defined productivity expectations.
- At all times Provider shall accurately and timely complete any paperwork necessary to facilitate billing and reimbursement.

Education/Experience Required:
- Medical Degree from an Accredited University
- New York State medical license and Federal DEA license (required).
- Board Certified in Family Medicine required.

Other Related Skills/Experience:
- Experience working in community-based health care settings is also preferred
- Experience/An understanding of eClinical Works is helpful.
- The ability to demonstrate teamwork and effective interpersonal relations skills is imperative.
- Excellent written/oral communication and computer skills are required.
- Ability to foster and maintain a positive working relationship in a multidisciplinary team and clients
Compensation range from 200K.
Work schedule - 35 hours workweek minimum and flexibility on weekends needed (every other Saturdays.) All ages but mostly pediatrics & adults with location rotation required.
