Bakersfield Memorial Hospital includes 385 general acute beds 48 licensed critical care beds 13 state-of-the-art surgical suites and a full-service Emergency Department with an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Nationally Certified Stroke Center. Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The EEG Technologist performs duties associated with the operation of Neurodiagnostic equipment to include EEG EMG Evoke Potential TCD and other neuro diagnostic equipment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of clinical patient care experience in the healthcare field.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Current or planned enrollment into an Associates of Arts (AA) or Associates of Science (AS) degree program. AA or AS must be obtained within 2 years from position orientation completion.
- BLS (AHA) required
- Persons without an associate degree or RPSGT Certificate will be required to obtain EEG credential as a Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist () by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) within 1 year of obtaining their AA or AS.
- Persons with an associate degree or RPSGT Certificate will be required to obtain EEG credential as a Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist () by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) within 18 months of employment.
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
