Job Description
Summary
Saint Xavier University invites applicants for an open-rank Tenure-Track Faculty Director Position in History. The director will lead the History and Political Science department which includes the Secondary Education Social Science-History major Political Science major minors in related areas and the History and some Social Sciences component of the general education program.
Saint Xavier University is a Hispanic Serving Institution and has a significant percentage of minority and first-generation college students.
Start date is in the Fall of 2025. Rank depends on credentials and years of experience; salary commensurate with experience.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach 9 credit hours each semester of History courses related to ones area of expertise
- Lead all activities of the History and Political Science department
- Manage the curriculum and assessment for the majors minors and general education course offerings
- Hire supervise evaluate mentor and support adjunct and full-time faculty
- Participate in department and university service
- Establish a program of research leading to peer-reviewed publications and presentations
- Provide service to the program college and university
Qualifications
- Doctorate in History
- Excellence in collegiate teaching grounded in evidence-based best practices for teaching and learning
- Experience with curriculum design and assessment
- A record of scholarship
- Experience in or potential for excellence in leadership
COMPENSATION
Salary and rank will be determined by credentials and experience.
