About this role:
Wells Fargos US equity client footprint is growing steadily in the EMEA region and we are seeking an experienced US Equity Research Sales Executive Director to help us continue along our existing growth path. This role will be based in London.
In this role you will:
- Perform the function of a traditional US equity research salesperson for covered accounts
- Wells Fargo equities relationship manager for a number of primary coverage relationships
- US equity research will be considered the core product responsibility.
- US corporate access and equity capital markets (ECM) related activities will be centrally important to overall success.
- High levels of in person client engagement will be an essential part of achieving success in this role.
- Extensive business travel will be an expectation. This will include the attendance at WF US based industry conferences when relevant client engagement/attendance has been achieved.
- Self-generated content designed for client consumption is highly encouraged. Internal distribution of this content for broader team/platform/client benefit is encouraged.
- WF equities has an excellent client footprint with Italian institutions. Optimizing firm to firm relationships with this client base are key success metrics in this role.
- AON McLagan/Coalition wallet share data and absolute production data trends in relevant products for relevant clients will be considered core success criteria metrics in this role. Broker evaluation votes will also be considered.
- A highly data centric approach towards resource allocation opportunity prioritization and the evaluation of realized results is a core element of this team. A comparably data centric approach and an ability to demonstrate robust commercial rationale for resourcing decisions if challenged is an expectation of this senior hire.
- Working collaboratively across equity disciplines (research/trading/sales-trading/ECM) and other CIB markets business areas to optimize WF client value proposition and client footprint growth will be constant expectations of this senior hire.
- Ensuring high levels of key client engagement are reflected appropriately in relevant industry surveys will be an element of the role.
- Culture and conduct are of paramount importance at WF. Candidate will be expected to adhere to all elements of cultural expectations.
- Aligned to firmwide conduct expectations candidate will be expected to deal with conflicts respectfully and deal with challenges positively in a way that is compatible with a small team environment.
- This senior hire will be expected to assist with WF mentoring/coaching/evaluation efforts with emerging talent.
- WF expects all professionals in client facing roles to be at our office 5 days a week whenever possible.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in Securities Sales or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience training military experience education
Desired Qualifications:
- Candidate should be high energy and self-motivated but also highly collaborative and capable of operating in a high energy high performing low friction small team environment.
- Candidate should have extensive client facing role experience and will be expected to bring an existing roster of relevant institutional relationships.
- Acting as EMEA roadshow concierge for WF content/leadership and WF corporate clients executing roadshows across EMEA is a central element of this role. Some comparable experience is considered essential.
- The candidates initial primary coverage responsibility will be an Italian institutional base so some prior experience with this customer cluster is an essential pre-requisite.
Job Expectations:
This position is deemed to be a Certified Person function under the FCA and PRA Certification Regime. You must at all times remain fit and proper to perform your role and this will be assessed on at least an annual basis
