We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Customer Workflows as a Senior Python Cloud Developer. This exciting and challenging role is responsible for developing a globally available cloud-based data-analysis application for large and small external customers.
The Details...
Reporting to the Associate Director of Web Development the successful candidate will extend and improve our data analysis platform to enable the scaling and delivery of the EPI2ME cloud bioinformatics platform
If successful youll be working in a team of developers bioinformatics scientists and operations engineers to provide data analysis systems including data management analysis pipelines telemetry processing and administrative dashboards. Youll use agile methods to develop new features and build resilient systems in the cloud and on sequencing devices. In addition youll maintain and develop systems that manage 100s of Terabytes of raw sequencing data and data analysis results from sequencing experiments.
What Were Looking For...
Well expect you to have a strong work ethic positive attitude and good attention to detail. Youll also have good communication skills to enable you to engage with stakeholders as well as developers.
Youll hold a degree in a numerate discipline and have proven experience of developing Python web applications and maintaining them in an operational cloud environment. You must have experience using one or more of the frameworks FastAPI Django Flask or Tornado as well as knowledge of using database backends in web applications.
Some experience with AWS is essential; such as DynamoDB Batch ECS and Fargate. In addition some experience of developing software in a scientific environment particularly bioinformatics would be an advantage. Experience with continuous integration and deployment systems (notably Gitlab and AWS CodeDeploy) would be extremely advantageous.
