Responsibilities
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Maintains surgical instruments through appropriate decontamination assembly and sterilization parameters.
- Participates in Infection Control through appropriate and proper monitoring of Sterilization process and equipment.
- Decontamination: Prioritizes cleaning function; sorts heat sensitive from heat stable instruments; manually cleans heat sensitive instruments; maintains detergents and lubricants; maintains a clean environment.
- Instrument Set Assembly: Assembles set according to count sheet; indicates missing instruments on count sheet; indicates missing instruments on outside of set; labels set with name on count sheet; applies correct indicator tape according to type of sterilization; initials count sheet and outside label.
- Precepts for departmental orientation.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma/GED Required
Required Licensure and Certifications
- BLS- AHA
