Job Responsibilities
- Tracking analyzing and anticipating P&C insurance developments and trends of impact to Arch and its business units. Help develop Archs policy perspective and communicating that internally and to policymakers and other influencers as appropriate and consistent with the strategy. This may include the drafting of talking points policy memoranda comment letters or other advocacy content
- Proactively monitor and research pending legislation and regulations of importance to Archs business units and lines of authority and keeping Arch informed
- Work with various trade associations to represent Arch and our concerns and priorities
- Identify political legislative and regulatory risks and opportunities
- Maintain the legislative and regulatory change management system analyzing for application and internally distributing content as appropriate.
- Develop and execute strategic plans and solutions to recognize policy risks and opportunities define protect and advance Archs objectives and reputation
- Publish internal communications regarding regulatory and legislative matters
- Develop a deep understanding of Arch P&C insurance products services and business strategy to effectively advocate for Archs interests
Required Skills/Experience
- P&C insurance industry knowledge
- Working knowledge and experience with state legislative and regulatory agencies including insurance department personnel and processes
- Analyzing skills to determine the impact of legislative and regulatory proposals on Arch.
- Advocacy skills including demonstrated analytical abilities and strong oral and written communication
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the P&C insurance business
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on internal and external matters
- Strategic mindset. Ability to understand impacts and outcomes and course correct in response.
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products including Teams Excel Outlook Word and Power Point; familiarity with remote access tools (VPN) and other web-based tools
Education/Experience
- Work in the P&C insurance industry or related field
- 3-4 years of professional experience in the state and/or federal government and/or government relations with P&C insurance industry knowledge
- College Degree - BS BA or MBA

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$79900 - $107900/year
Total individual compensation (base salary short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location scope & responsibilities of the role qualifications talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
