About the role:
Reporting to the maintenance supervisor the Processing Welder is responsible for fusing bonding cutting and forming metals in the repair rebuilding fabrication and installation of plate sheet pipe castings and structural members using a variety of welding processes.
This is a full-time hourly position that offers an attractive Monday to Thursday 10-hour dayshift schedule.
The position is site-based at our operations in the Elk Valley and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Sparwood B.C is necessary.
In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Maintain troubleshoot repair and fabricate site structures and equipment in all areas of the processing plant
- Knowledge and experience in the use of oxy-acetylene lancing and arc welding refers to destructive welding (i.e. cutting off bolts brazing cracks in fenders rosebud etc)
- Use the following welding processes: FCAW SMAW GMAW and GTAW
- Conduct inspections on mining equipment and structures and perform preventative maintenance as needed
- Work cohesively with other tradespeople
- Provide innovative solutions and best practices
- Must be comfortable working at heights and working in confined spaces
Requirements:
- Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Welder Certification
- Valid drivers license
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- B Pressure welding ticket would be considered an asset
- Previous mining experience is an asset

$123000 - $129000 a year
Base earnings reflected in salary range includes the hourly wage plus applicable shift premiums and will differ depending on location. It is calculated using a reasonably expected number of hours worked per year.
This position involves welding and fabricating heavy mining equipment and structures in an industrial environment. If youre a Red Seal Welder Journeyperson Welder or CWB Certified Welder with experience in structural welding and heavy equipment repair we encourage you to apply.
