The EH&S Site Lead for Cheshire CT will work to execute initiatives and programs across multiple EH&S disciplines monitor local performance and supports practices to achieve and maintain compliance to internal and external EHS requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental health & safety regulations permits and Corporate/Collins goals policies and procedures
  • Oversee the on-site medical department including OSHA record-keeping and work-related case management
  • Champion the sites ergonomic risk reduction efforts and team to further reduce the risk of the operations
  • Provide oversight for any proposed facility or process modifications
  • Providing guidance to the company regarding activities and projects necessary to maintain regulatory compliance attain environment and safety goals with responsibility for consulting with leadership teams concerning projects and initiatives
  • Along with management act as an EH&S liaison with employees at the site.
  • Facilitating incident reviews and assist in risk assessment and implementation of risk mitigation
  • Provide support to various site EH&S councils and Sub-Committees
  • Reporting conditions to supervision and management that may adversely impact the environment to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards
  • Participating in pollution prevention/waste reduction initiatives working on cross-functional projects that interface with other groups external to and within the core EH&S team
  • Lead /instruct EH&S training courses per the site training schedule to ensure compliance and improve EH&S customer service employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts in EH&S operations
  • Ensure the best EH&S practices and standard work are relentlessly driven across site
  • Coordinate and conduct specialized Environmental Health and/or Safety audits and inspections of premises and operations in conjunction with others to monitor performance and assist the relevant line management to produce action plans to implement the necessary improvements
  • Maintain relevant records produce reports and review statistics

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • Experience and knowledge in OSHA Health and safety regulatory programs

Qualifications We Prefer

  • EH&S related degree preferred. Advanced degree preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Capable of working with a wide range of people from the site leader to the shop floor
  • Ability to analyze data demonstrates compliance with regulatory requirements and internal needs
  • Proven leadership abilities to guide and influence teams and individuals in EH&S best practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge in ensuring compliance to all local/state/federal regulations to air water wastewater and hazardous waste
  • Preferable experience within an industrial manufacturing or aerospace environment

The salary range for this role is 124000 USD - 250000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
