About the Role
The Treasury Analyst will be responsible for managing the organizations liquidity risk and cash flow. The role requires oversight of the companys treasury operations with a specific focus on cash management forecasting working capital optimization and financial analysis. This is a dynamic role in a fast-paced environment supporting global operations and contributing to strategic financial decisions across various departments.
This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will be based in Sydney Olympic Park Australia.
Key responsibilities:
You will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Cash Management:
- Monitor and manage daily cash positions to ensure sufficient liquidity for business operations.
- Coordinate with global finance teams to manage cash inflows and outflows optimizing liquidity.
- Develop short-term cash flow forecasts ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Support banking relationships and optimize the companys banking structure.
- Treasury Operations:
- Assist with the management of company debt including debt compliance and covenant monitoring.
- Maintain relationships with banks financial institutions and other stakeholders involved in treasury operations.
- Support in the execution of foreign exchange hedging strategies to mitigate risk associated with currency fluctuations.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze treasury data to provide actionable insights and financial recommendations to senior management.
- Monitor and report on liquidity metrics and other key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the companys financial health.
- Support month-end closing and quarterly financial reporting including balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow statements.
- Risk Management:
- Assist in identifying and managing financial risks including foreign exchange and interest rate risks.
- Implement strategies to minimize risk exposure and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Process Improvement & Automation:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within treasury operations and support automation initiatives.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in cash management and financial reporting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the finance accounting and procurement departments to ensure the smooth execution of financial transactions.
- Provide treasury-related support for corporate finance projects mergers & acquisitions and other strategic initiatives.
- Global Treasury Coordination:
- Collaborate with treasury teams across global offices and subsidiaries to ensure alignment with corporate treasury strategy.
- Support intercompany financing transfer pricing and the optimization of working capital across regions.
Desired Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g. CTP CFA) would be a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in treasury finance or a related field. Experience in the manufacturing food processing or packaging industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with treasury management systems (TMS) and financial modeling.
- Strong understanding of cash management foreign exchange and risk management principles.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level) financial software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and regions.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong team player with the ability to build relationships across global teams.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a drive to improve processes.
- A high level of integrity confidentiality and professionalism.
- A keen interest in the food processing and packaging technology industry and financial operations.
- Languages:
- Fluency in English; additional languages would be an advantage particularly in regions where the company has operations.
