SUMMARY
Provides frequent resident/client assessments monitoring of residents health care status medication administration and related challenges. Consults with physicians dentists therapists pharmacists and hospitals to ensure high quality health care to Key Training Center residents. Performs nursing responsibilities in accordance with Florida professional standards licensure and competency qualifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Licensed LPN in the State of Florida. Minimum of one year nursing experience. Experience with developmentally disabled adults preferred.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS
Florida State Board of Nursing - RN/LPN CPR/First Aid certified. Must be trained in HIV/Aids and infection control.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to deal courteously tactfully and efficiently with resident families staff members and the general public.
Emotional stability and maturity with a genuine interest in working with residents.
Capable of working a flexible hour/day or weekend schedule.
Knowledge of life-safety and infection control protocols.
Willingness to comply with in-service training or other mandates.
General knowledge of behavioral management practices.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to recognize and assess unsafe/hazardous conditions.
Knowledge of the provision of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) particularly as it relates to a barrier free environment.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
OCCUPATIONAL RISKS:
This position involves intermittent exposure to blood body fluids or tissue. Protective measures are available. Hepatitis B Vaccine is recommended.

Deviation from established professional practices/standards could result in serious consequences for the organization the residents it serves and credibility of the facility (residence).
