We are hiring a FITTER for a local company. The Fitter will be responsible for assembling and installing machinery and equipment conducting tests and quality control and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
The ideal candidate should have a solid technical background with hands-on experience in working with VARIOUS tools and equipment. Proficiency in reading technical designs and excellent problem-solving skills will be crucial for this role. Responsibilities include-
- Read and interpret blueprints schematics and detailed repair drawings related to construction equipment and machinery
- Assemble and install machinery and equipment according to specifications
- Inspect and test installed systems and machinery
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment and systems
- Maintain accurate records of service maintenance and repairs
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Coordinate with team members to complete projects on schedule
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fitter
- 2-5 years experience fitting pressure vessels and heat exchangers that conform to ASME API and/or TEMA standards.
- Must be able to tack weld using SMAW or GTAW
- Must be able to cut steel parts using plasma and oxyacetylene torches and must be proficient with angle grinders
- Excellent ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Experience with power tools and hand tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and team working skills
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield gloves etc.)
- High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus
