Join Our Team as a Finishing Operator (2nd Shift)!
Avery Dennison is a global leader in materials science and manufacturing and were looking for a motivated Finishing Operator to join our production team in the finishing center. This is a 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) position where youll play a crucial role in preparing our high-quality products for shipment.
As a Finishing Operator your responsibilities will include:
- Packaging Excellence: Precisely sort label and package finished goods according to specific customer requirements quality standards and company best practices. This includes understanding Avery Dennisons standard packaging and Exact program packing requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect the general appearance of finished products to ensure they meet our high-quality standards.
- Operational Support: Keep your area stocked with necessary packaging materials and prepare cores for machine operators.
- Communication & Coordination: Effectively communicate and coordinate vital information with other shifts and departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Efficiency & Improvement: Track multiple orders simultaneously actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in group problem-solving teams.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe work environment perform 5S duties and audits and assist with equipment maintenance as directed.

Physical Requirements for this Role:
- Movement: Ability to stand/walk for up to 80% of your shift with frequent pushing pulling bending reaching and squatting up to 50% of the time.
- Lifting: Capability to lift up to 50 pounds for up to 50% of your shift.
- Environment: Comfortable working in an environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels.

Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
- Safety First: A strong commitment to safety acting as a role model and encouraging adherence to safety practices.
- Quality & Service Driven: Focused on service and quality proactively addressing issues understanding root causes and communicating solutions.
- Team Player: Able to contribute effectively in a team environment fostering open communication and positive interactions.

- Reliable & Flexible: A proven record of flexibility and dependability including willingness to work overtime sometimes on short notice.
- Computer Savvy: Proficient with computer applications especially MFG Pro.
- Physical & Certifications: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and obtain a Lift Truck Operators license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: 3-5 years of previous experience in a similar role.
- Skills: Solid interpersonal skills mathematical aptitude mechanical/technical aptitude and strong logical problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive & Independent: Motivated towards productivity safety and quality improvements with the ability to work independently in a safe and timely manner.
- Continuous Improvement: Experience leading continuous improvement efforts and knowledge of ELS Operating Principles.
- Adaptability: Adaptive flexible and comfortable handling of ambiguity.
- Team Environment: Experience working effectively in a team environment.
