The Disengagement Clerk is responsible for managing a high volume of cases efficiently and effectively. This role involves proactive follow-up providing regular updates to clients ALG staff members and attorneys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft file and serve substitution/dismissal-related legal pleadings reviewed by attorneys and other documents essential to the case
- Create new requests for substitution/dismissal-related legal pleadings
- Communicate with the Workers Compensation Appeals Board defendants opposing counsel internal staff and clients to facilitate case closure
- Audit filed substitution/dismissal-related legal pleadings and update firms case management system with the results.
- Serve substitution/dismissal-related orders notices of intent and other documents issued by the court and assigned to our firm for service
- Serve applicants with disengagement notices
- Serve applicants their file
- Close and reopen cases
Qualifications :
- 1 years of experience in workers compensation or legal field (preferred)
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) (preferred)
- High School Diploma required. Bachelors Degree (preferred)
- Knowledge of CA Workers Compensation Laws (Preferred)
- Strong attention to detail with ability to observe details on a computer or other electronic screens.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications including but not limited to Word Outlook and Teams
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently with little supervision
- Client focused with the commitment to outstanding customer service and the ability to deliver results.
