Job Description

Overview

As our Medical Surgical Nurse at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake youll excel in your nursing career by providing care to patients admitted to our unit. The primary functions of a registered nurse in assigning planning implementing and evaluating the care of all assigned patients of all ages (neonates/infants pediatrics adolescents adults and geriatrics). Manages all assigned personal supplies and equipment and promotes teamwork with all members of the health care team. Most of your patients are funneled in from other units providing you with the opportunity to build on your education and experience in specialized service lines such as cardiac critical care OB pediatrics surgical services and emergency.

About Us:

CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital accredited by The Joint Commission licensed by the North Dakota State Department of Health and certified by the Department of Health and Human Services for participation in the Medicare Program. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Lake Region area and surrounding communities since 1902.

Responsibilities

  • Except to deliver care to 4-6 patients per shift
  • Administer medications change dressings monitor vital signs and chart with timely documentation
  • Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work care coordination physical therapy occupational therapy lab respiratory therapy and imaging

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing
  • Active North Dakota (ND) Registered Nurse License compact state RN licensure accepted.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred:

  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NRP
