English Dual Enrollment Full-Time Lecturer Faculty

The Department of English at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time temporary (non-tenurable) dual enrollment faculty position (#113050) at the rank of Lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding demonstrated need and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The start date for the appointment is August 1 2025.
The successful candidate will teach sections of Dual Enrollment English at Rutherford County area high schools as needed to satisfy a full-time teaching workload every year. The sections will be offered as part of the normal high school course schedule. The successful candidate must communicate regularly with the high school administration the Director of General Education English and the Department Chair at MTSU to coordinate planned course activities with the high school calendar.
Applicants must meet at least one of the following three-degree requirements:
1. Master of Arts in any of the following disciplines: English English Literature Linguistics Rhetoric/Composition Professional/Technical Writing
2. Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing
3. Master of Arts in a closely related field with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in classes with English Linguistics and/or Technical Writing prefixes.
Applicants must also have completed at least three (3) hours of graduate-level coursework focusing on writing pedagogy or demonstrate at least one (1) semester of experience teaching English at a university or college.
Applicants with the following will receive special consideration: a PhD in English English Literature Linguistics Rhetoric/Composition or Professional/Technical Writing; at least one semester of experience teaching dual-enrollment English classes.
