Overview
As our Specialty Surgical Tech at CHI St Vincent Infirmary youll prepare the operating room for a variety of surgeries. We cant operate without you.
The operating room (OR) runs as a team; every person on the team has an important role that directly impacts the patient. Your success in this role comes from your adaptability and enthusiasm to work with a team taking patients from a diseased process to a healing process.
CHI St Vincent Infirmary is a 600 bed faith-based non-profit acute care facility providing quality health care to patients and communities from all over the State of Arkansas. Our level II trauma center is a regional referral center for cardiology trauma behavioral health cancer care neurosciences and other specialties. Responsibilities
- Assist the Main OR surgical team under the supervision of the surgeon and registered nurse.
- Prepare the operating room for assigned surgical procedures with proper instrumentation and sterilization
- Navigate the nuances of surgical procedures and surgeons youll be supporting
- Adapt to the needs of emergency situations
- Provide clean-up and turnover of operating room to prepare for next patient
- Must be able to rotate call and report within 30 minutes if called for a procedure

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing with attendance of the core curriculum for perioperative nursing or equivalent training and licensed to practice in the State of Arkansas
- Graduate of an approved surgical technology program (one or two year program)
- One year surgical experience required
- Must have completed the required hospital and unit specific orientation period
- Must be currently certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support & renewable every two years
- Must be able to rotate taking surgical call (weeknights / weekends).
