Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in HVAC electrical mechanical or plumbing preferred.

  • Minimum5 years of experiencein adata center or critical facility environment.

  • Provenleadership experiencemanaging teams of engineers or technicians in a high-availability setting.

  • Strong knowledge ofHVAC and electrical systems standards and regulations.

Licenses & Certifications

  • EPA Universal Certification(CFCs) required.

  • Additional certifications such as Journeyman or Master Electrician High Pressure Boiler License or Refrigeration Certificate of Fitness are a plus.

  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervisea team of Operating Engineers in a mission-critical data center environment.

  • Oversee theoperation maintenance and repairof HVAC electrical mechanical and plumbing systems.

  • Ensurecompliance with safety protocols building codes and regulatory standards.

  • Monitor and manageBuilding Management Systems (BMS)andenergy management systems.

  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment including chillers CRAC units cooling towers pumps and generators.

  • Respond to and resolveemergency situationsand system failures with urgency and precision.

  • Implement and optimizepreventive maintenance programsto ensure uptime and reliability.

  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.

  • Identify and executecost-saving opportunitiesand operational improvements.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills in a high-pressure 24/7 operational environment.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnostics of complex building systems.

  • Familiarity with smart technologies tablets and web-based maintenance platforms.

  • Excellent communication documentation and organizational skills.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. work in varying weather conditions and respond to after-hours emergencies.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Operates in a professional data center and office environment.

  • Regular travel between facilities may be required.

  • Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
