The role demands an individual with proven retail leadership excellent commercial awareness and an in-depth understanding of the building hardware and home improvement sectors.
You will be responsible for ensuring seamless day-to-day operations delivering outstanding customer service and driving both retail and trade sales in a highly competitive and dynamic environment.
Manage the full operation of a large-format DIY store overseeing all departments including building materials tools garden & outdoor paint plumbing electrical and seasonal ranges
Lead and develop a large team including department managers supervisors and floor staff ensuring high performance and team morale
Drive commercial performance through effective P&L management stock control sales reporting and KPI monitoring
Maintain high merchandising standards ensuring planograms seasonal changes and promotional displays are executed effectively
Build strong relationships with both retail customers and trade professionals ensuring a tailored solution-oriented shopping experience
Coordinate logistics deliveries and inventory flow to support availability and stock integrity
Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations operational procedures and company policies
Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders to roll out strategic initiatives and business improvements
Identify market trends customer needs and competitor activity to inform local business strategy
Senior management experience within the DIY home improvement hardware or building materials sector is essential
Strong background in large-format or big-box retail management
Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations large teams and diverse product categories
Commercially savvy with experience managing sales targets margin control and promotional execution
Exceptional leadership coaching and team development skills
Practical understanding of health & safety compliance and store operational standards
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a hands-on solutions-driven mindset
Proficient in using retail systems reporting tools and Microsoft Office
Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is considered a plus
