Are you a high-achieving Maths Graduate looking to gain meaningful classroom experience before commencing your teacher training
A well-regarded secondary school in West London is seeking a dedicated Maths Graduate Academic Support Assistant to join its team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 within the Maths Department working closely with subject teachers the Head of Department and pastoral leaders.
You will play a pivotal role in delivering tailored academic support through a combination of 1:1 and small group intervention sessions helping students build confidence in their mathematical understanding and achieve their full academic potential.
This is an ideal post for a Maths Graduate with aspirations to pursue a PGCE or teacher training programme in 2025 offering valuable insight into classroom teaching and student progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students across Years 711 in Maths
- Deliver focused 1:1 and small group tuition to address learning gaps and reinforce core concepts
- Collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to support academic progress and engagement
- Assist with lesson planning resource preparation and student assessments
- Contribute to a positive and focused learning environment
Candidate Profile:
- A recent Maths graduate from a leading university
- Passionate about education with a clear interest in pursuing a teaching career
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and support students
- Organised proactive and able to work collaboratively as part of a professional team
- Previous experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring mentoring) is highly desirable
