Certification with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE) TO:Program Coordinator North River SchoolEVALUATION:Staff evaluation will be implemented as outlined in the North River Collaborative Personnel Policies and Procedures RESPONSIBILITIES:A. INSTRUCTIONAL/DIRECT SERVICEPerform regular medical screenings and interventions as guided by state health students who complain of a medical concern and take appropriate action or treatment based upon the students who are in crisis or who have sustained physical injury and take appropriate or treatment action based upon the as a member of the building crisis team and help to support school-wide medical behavioral and academic students with practical guidance regarding safe and healthy life choices in conjunction with their social/emotional treatment plans.B. DOCUMENTATION EVALUATION AND COMMUNICATIONMaintain logs and documentation of student and staff interactions in the health office risk factors in the presentation of a student and assess safety in the moment given a compromised in proactive communication with outside healthcare providers and outside agencies for individual or group student in proactive communication with parents/guardians regarding student support needs and health office doctor orders or discharge information proactively through communication with outside the collection of required paperwork for the start of the school year or for new a log of communications with outside providers and parents/ all required medications and track medication storage and administration based upon safety requirements and doctor orders.C. HEALTH AND SAFETYRespond to the needs of individual students so as to enhance their social/emotional health and personal to situations in a culturally proficient manner taking into account a whole student with families in a supportive manner through the lens of differing perspectives and training apply de-escalation strategies as necessary to prevent a student from harming themselves or able to safely lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist in lifting up to 100 able to physically assist students during activities such as: toileting personal hygiene transfers in/out of adaptive equipment and mechanical lifts and other self-care tasks as able to move with reasonable speed and physically assist students during any emergency drills or actual able to safely and effectively participate in de escalation training and to safely perform physical escort and restraints as needed once to safely and effectively participate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training if requested and to safely perform CPR as needed once trained.D. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENTDevelop student learning and professional practice goals as indicated based on evaluation in Collaborative and/or member district program development or goals as and provide a record of attendance of relevant professional development to keep abreast of trends and recent developments in the field of physical therapy/school-based and participate in in-service training programs and department/program meetings as up to date on current technology for enhancing student success professional collaboration and efficiency.E. ETHICALMaintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students. Maintain professional attitudes and productive relationships with other staff and parents and professionals with respect and engage in inclusive and equitable the rights of each student and family.
