Supply planner job description
Short Description
The Supply Planner is responsible to ensure short-term packaging and raw material planning focused on placement of purchase Orders to fulfill production plan requirements and agreed inventory targets i.e. the process of creating and maintaining weekly and daily procurement schedules to meet production demand requirements and inventory targets.
The Supply Planner also ensures that the warehouses in the distribution network receives the required products in time according to the planned consumption and ordered quantities in the short-term horizon. This includes monitoring stock transfer requisitions to warehouses considering target inventory levels shelf-life restrictions planned consumption transport and storage capacities.
Key Focus Areas
- Creating and maintaining the procurement schedule based on the production schedule master plan and on established pull signals (MRP and reorder point planning)
- Ensure target stock coverage in the warehouses through timely placement of POs and by exception also dispatch of stock transfer orders of available inventory between the Paulig sites considering shelf-life restrictions
- Ensure the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production
- Schedule and oversee the supply and delivery of materials and products
- Manage inventory issues schedule changes and cancellations
- Analyze changing material demand patterns
- Ensuring the best possible utilization of truck loading capacities considering the defined loading rules
- Communication with suppliers production and logistics to ensure a permanent exchange of information
- Regular evaluation and maintenance of all material relevant planning parameters and master data stored in the system for ensuring maximum system supported material planning
