Job Description
Overview
As a Radiation Therapist at CHI St Vincent Hot Springs youll help our patients regain their independence and quality of life so they can safely go about their daily activities.
Youll work alongside physicians and other health professionals to assess patients
scans patients at the appropriate levels transfers and reconstructs images as required transfers and coordinates to the laser system and marks isocenters. Informs and instructs patients regarding equipment and procedures to provide assurance and alleviate patient anxiety. Explains procedures to the patient at an appropriate level of understanding and answers the patients questions within the professional scope of knowledge
To thrive in this role you must be flexible and adaptable. Youll care for all patient populations presenting with a variety of conditions. You need to be extremely organized and efficient. Youll see many patients each workday and will be required to document all evaluations treatments and status changes. Most importantly you must be positive personable and motivating. While the entire care team works to treat illnesses and injuries therapists truly motivate patients to get active and get better. It can be a long road for some patients and a therapist who remains upbeat and energetic can make all the difference.
CHI St Vincent Hot Springs is a 280-bed faith-based non-profit Magnet Accredited facility providing quality health care to patients and communities from all over the State of Arkansas. As the only level II trauma center in the southwest part of the state CHI St Vincent Hot Springs is the regional referral center for cardiology trauma neuro ortho oncology and critical care/pulmonary. Responsibilities
- As directed by the physician determines positioning of the patients to ensure set-up accessibility practicality and reproducibility.
- Ensures set-up instructions treatment parameters and proper documentation for procedures performed are documented in the patients chart.
- Ensures that relevant information is on the physicians order sheet and/or treatment prescription and that all necessary documentation is available and correct before commencing with a procedure.
- Fabricates individualized immobilization devices ensuring patient comfort and structural integrity of each device. Also aides in fabrication of other custom devices as directed by the physician physicist or dosimetrist.

Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology or has Radiation Therapy Technology Certification
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (T) required
- Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in Arkansas is required
- License to practice in the State of Arkansas
- Previous acute care experience was preferred but not required.
