Job Description

Job Summary:

This position provides strategic leadership for the Outside Sales Mortgage Loan Officer and Education & Community Outreach teams at Wings Credit Union. Creates a sales focused culture that is committed to providing the best-in-class service to the members we serve. This role also provides cross-functional collaboration and communication between the mortgage teams and other areas of Wings to achieve long-term organizational objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides leadership to the job functions within the mortgage origination team including education & community outreach outside sales and mortgage loan officer teams. Includes interviewing hiring and providing training to employees performance reviews addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Sets strategy and creates cohesion between the teams to create efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develops and monitors budget for all areas of Mortgage Origination.
  • Represents Mortgage Origination by participating in Loan Pricing Committee and Loan Review Committee.
  • Creates a collaborative environment where employees are encouraged to bring forth ideas to enhance and grow the business.
  • Focuses on scalability to support market conditions and M&A activity.
  • Identifies new product offerings and programs to help strengthen Wings position in the marketplace.
  • Monitors pipeline for decision making and commitment purposes.
  • Ensures team meets or exceeds expectations for production file quality member satisfaction adherence to policy and similar metrics.
  • Leads cross-functional efforts to improve communications within and across teams.
  • Oversees the adherence and monitoring of mortgage origination policies and procedures.
  • Understands investors guidelines pricing and programs to enable Wings products to align and create opportunity for the organization.
  • Interprets and applies in partnership with other leaders Wings strategic vision to plan influence support and execute the goals and growth of mortgage lending.
  • Builds skills abilities and knowledge through ongoing education and networking.
  • Coordinates training offerings to continuously develop the teams skills and abilities while remaining current on industry topics and required trainings.
  • Creates development and succession plans for employees pursuing growth within or outside the team.
  • Serves as a point of contact with Wings Compliance and Audit teams.
  • Represents Wings as a key member of the Mortgage leadership team during regulatory exams and audits.

Qualifications:

  • College degree in management business or related area preferred; and/or demonstrated ongoing mindset of learning and growth preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in financial services focused on mortgage loan origination.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership/management role required.
  • Strong understanding of sales relationship building and mortgage origination with demonstrated experience to execute and influence.
  • Holistic leadership competencies including a servant leadership mentality.
  • Experienced and proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at the senior leader level and across functional groups and business units.
  • Excellent analytic organization presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to lead and delegate through multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Required to obtain or possess a Mortgage Loan originator (MLO) unique qualifier (NMLS registration number). Must have the ability to successfully completed all MLO Registry requirements including passing background and credit checks and submitting to fingerprinting and to any other requirements of the rules enacted pursuant to the S.A.F.E. Act.

Pay Range:$125k-$160k plus 20% annual target bonus. The estimated hiring range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors including skill set experience location qualifications and other job-related reasons.
