Job Description

Senior Technical Surveyor Grade 7/8

  • Full-time ongoing role based in Wollongong

About the role

Reporting directly to the Survey Manager the primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate and deliver a varied range of field surveys which includes project planning data collection and processing and service investigations meeting cost-effective deliverables while providing guidance and support to junior team members.

About NSW Public Works Surveying Team

The NSW Public Works (NSWPW) Surveying Team sits within the Surveying Spatial and Property Team and is responsible for providing surveying services to both internal NSWPW projects and external government clients. We play a pivotal role in project planning and delivery through spatial mapping analysis and the management of 2D and 3D data for clients across NSW.

Our work includes advanced 3D spatial capture using the latest LiDAR and photogrammetry equipment as well as terrestrial laser scanners. We also deliver a wide range of surveying services including cadastral surveys such as boundary surveys and acquisitions dam monitoring and topographic surveys. These services support critical infrastructure environmental and property-related projects across the state.

About you

You have completed a Diploma or Degree in Surveying and you have demonstrable experience across the surveying discipline.

You have suitable health and fitness with the ability to undertake work in physically challenging terrain.

You must have a current NSW Driver Licence and be willing to drive to and work in remote locations to undertake surveying projects which may include overnight stays
