Job Description
OR TECH 60 MILE RADIUS RULE Weekend call and holidays required SHIFT: 2 8 s & 2 12 s 40 HOURS 26 weeks May be asked to precept new staff Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech program preferred or current New York State LPN license eligible Approved pharmacology course or previous medication experience and successful achievement in medications exam. Knowledge in the use of cleaning/sterilization/disinfections of equipment and instrumentation utilized in the clinical operating room setting. OR experience preferred Desire to work within an Operating Room setting. BLS required. Continuing education requirements of 15 CEUs per year. Qualified candidate will function under the direct supervision of an RN and assist in Nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient by performing routine & delegated duties according to the standards and policies of the hospital and department. Surgical techs have a vital role in creating and maintaining a sterile surgical room and ensure that surgical equipment is functioning properly & safely as well as assisting surgeons during surgical procedures. Must arrive within 1/2 hour of getting called in.
