Job Title: Adult Consultant Psychiatrist
Work Hours: 36 42 hours/week (varies by role)
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide consultant psychiatrist input within specialist rehabilitation services or acute psychiatric wards.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to care for patients with complex needs.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and application of the Mental Health Act 1983.
- Supervise and guide junior medical staff and trainees fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Participate in regular appraisals and clinical governance activities to maintain high-quality care standards.
- Contribute to service development initiatives and engage in audit and research activities as required.
Essential Qualifications:
- MRCPsych or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
- Completion of CCT in general adult psychiatry forensic psychiatry psychiatry of learning disabilities (LD) or medical psychotherapy is preferred.
- Full GMC registration with a substantial consultant experience preferred.
- Section 12 2 approval and AC status are required.
Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in psychiatry.
- Proven experience in working as part of an MDT in providing care for complex patients.
- Experience providing RC and consultant psychiatrist input in inpatient clinical settings.
- Experience in a similar role within NHS or private hospitals would be advantageous.

Additional Guidelines:
