Ophthalmologist Consultant Phaco Surgeon
The role of an Ophthalmologist Consultant Phaco Surgeon is crucial in providing specialized care for patients with eye diseases and vision-related issues. Operating in the bustling regions of Kandivali and Bandra in Mumbai Maharashtra the consultant will lead efforts in diagnosing and treating a variety of ocular conditions particularly cataracts through phacoemulsification techniques. This position not only involves performing intricate surgical procedures but also entails comprehensive patient management educating patients about their conditions and collaborating with medical staff to ensure optimal outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose ocular conditions.
- Perform advanced phacoemulsification surgeries with precision.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
- Educate patients on preventative eye care and surgical options.
- Collaborate with other specialists in a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient database.
- Screen patients for cataracts and other visual impairments.
- Stay updated on current trends and advancements in ophthalmology.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote eye health.
- Monitor and manage post-operative complications.
- Conduct research to enhance knowledge in the field of ophthalmology.
- Mentor junior ophthalmologists and medical students.
- Advise healthcare management on improving clinical practices.
- Participate in professional organizations and national conferences.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent in Ophthalmology.
- Fellowship training in Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in surgical ophthalmology.
- Proven track record in performing phacoemulsification surgeries.
- Strong understanding of optics and visual sciences.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a clinical environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Board Certification in Ophthalmology preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
- Experience in teaching and mentoring is advantageous.
- Ethical practice and adherence to professional standards.
- Knowledge of current pharmaceutical treatments for eye conditions.
- Ability to travel between Kandivali and Bandra locations.
- Membership in relevant professional societies is a plus.
