Job Summary:
We are seeking a committed and skilled Social Worker to join a dynamic and supportive children s social care team.
The postholder will be responsible for delivering high-quality social work interventions that promote the safety welfare and outcomes of children and families in line with statutory guidance.
This role requires effective assessment planning intervention and partnership working to meet the needs of children in complex and sometimes high-risk situations.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Conduct holistic child-centred assessments of need risk and family functioning informed by current legislation and best practice.
Formulate and implement effective intervention and care plans using systemic and evidence-based approaches to achieve positive outcomes.
Build trusted professional relationships with children and families ensuring their voices are heard and incorporated into assessments and plans.
Maintain timely accurate and organised case records and contribute to performance targets and statutory duties such as child protection and court work.
Prepare and present clear analytical reports for meetings reviews and legal proceedings.
Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure a multi-agency response to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Engage in reflective supervision continuing professional development and contribute to a culture of learning and high-quality service delivery.
Support children and families from diverse backgrounds promoting anti-discriminatory and anti-racist practice.
Skills/Experience:
Experience of working with children and families in statutory settings particularly within a safeguarding or looked-after children context.
Sound knowledge of the legislative and regulatory framework for children s social care including the Children Act 1989 Working Together to Safeguard Children and relevant London Child Protection Procedures.
Proven ability to assess plan and deliver social work interventions using systemic and Social Learning Theory approaches.
Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce clear analytical reports.
Skilled in managing a complex caseload and prioritising work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Confident IT user with experience working with electronic case management systems.
