Primary Function of Position
The Sr Export Control Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all applicable export and deemed export control regulations pertaining to the international shipment and transfer of surgical robotics products parts and technologies. The role involves developing implementing and managing export control procedures and policies conducting risk assessments and providing guidance to internal stakeholders on export compliance matters.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with international export control regulations including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and other relevant local and international laws including Antiboycott legislation programs.
- Restricted Party Screening (RPS): Oversee current RPS screening system and drive future enhancements that aid in seamless integration into companies supply chain. Participate in due diligence in compliance with sanctions regulations.
Track KPIs in relation to RPS results. - Export license administration: Prepare and track BIS SNAP-R export license applications.
- Work with internal business stakeholders to determine export license needs in order to move company products parts and equipment across international borders.
- Preparation of BIS export license application packages and submission through SNAP-R system.
- Tracking and decrementation of authorized license quantity and value.
- Policy Development: Assist in developing and implementing export control policies and procedures. Regularly review and update policies to reflect changes in regulations and industry practices.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential export control compliance issues. Develop mitigation strategies and corrective action plans.
- Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on export control regulations policies and procedures. Develop training materials and conduct targeted workshops with internal stakeholders.
- Transaction Review: Review export transactions to ensure compliance with export licenses reporting and exemptions.
- Audit and Reporting: Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with export control policies. Prepare reports and documentation for management and regulatory agencies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with legal commercial logistics supply chain and other relevant departments to ensure seamless compliance with export control regulations.
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Experience
- 3 years of experience with at least 1 year of experience related to export control compliance preferably in the medical device or technology industry.
- In-depth knowledge of EAR ITAR and other relevant export control regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with export compliance RPS software and tools.
- This role will require working onsite 3 days/week in our Sunnyvale CA office
Required Education and Training
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration International Relations Law or related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in place of formal educational qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in export control compliance (e.g. Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer).
- Familiarity with global logistics and supply chain operations.
Compensation & Benefits:
We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay commission benefits and equity. The salary range for this position is $93500 - $134500. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience skills and qualifications.
