To support the Engineering team in maintaining the overall appearance and internal workings of the Hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintaining the physical appearance and overall condition of all guest public and staff areas of the hotel
- Maintaining the physical appearance of the grounds including collecting garbage plowing and shoveling snow cutting grass maintaining flower pots and pruning shrubbery and trees
- Completing daily hotel rounds to check for burnt out light bulbs and other maintenance issues
- Cleaning pool and whirlpool filters backwash and tiles and checking chemical levels
- Attending to scheduled maintenance checks and room calls noting condition and required repairs
- Completing or assisting with completing maintenance tasks as assigned
Physical Demands
- Requires significant walking and standing
- Frequent climbing of stairs and occasional use of stools and ladders
- Frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 22 pounds / 10 kg
- Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds / 23 kg
- Exposure to chemicals and controlled substances
- Significant bending kneeling crouching stretching reaching twisting
- Working indoors and outdoors
- May be required to work in enclosed spaces
Qualifications :
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- Mechanically inclined; plumbing carpentry or electrical training is an asset
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Customer-service oriented
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
