Position Summary

Salem Academy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Girls Swimming Coach for the upcoming winter season. The ideal candidate is passionate about mentoring student-athletes developing competitive swim teams and upholding the core values of sportsmanship teamwork and personal development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan organize and oversee all aspects of the girls swimming program including practices meets and team events.
• Design and implement effective training plans that build skill development conditioning and race strategies.
• Promote a positive inclusive and supportive environment for all athletes.
• Supervise assistant coaches (if applicable) and ensure compliance with all school conference and NCISAA regulations.
• Coordinate transportation meet schedules equipment needs and communication with parents and athletes.
• Foster academic and personal growth in student-athletes maintaining open communication with teachers and advisors.
• Represent Salem Academy at swim meets and other relevant events.
• Driving15-passenger van
• Ability to work with athletic administrators
• Maintain Meet statistics

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience coaching swimming at the high school club or collegiate level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of swim strokes techniques and race strategies.
• Proven ability to inspire mentor and lead young athletes.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends during the season.
• A commitment to the mission and values of Salem Academy.
• Clean driving history

While performing the responsibilities of the (Title) the employee is required to sit for varying lengths of time; bend reach lift push and pull up to 25 pounds; occasionally stand walk and kneel and regularly ascend/descend stairs; use hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate keys on a keyboard; perform extended periods of work at a computer workstation view a computer monitor; perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and receive detailed information through oral communication; express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word; and work in an office setting.
