Job Description

Macon R-1 School District is seeking an Career Center Secretaryfor the 2025-2026 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be able to work with students faculty and the general public in a diplomatic friendly manner

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs work as secretary to the Career Center Director
  2. Performs correspondence typing and filing.
  3. Greets all visitors to the building.
  4. Answers phone calls and directs calls.
  5. Maintains/assists in staff and student attendance records.
  6. Maintains/assists in keeping abreast of supplies for office and orders when needed.
  7. Maintains/assists in handling all building requisitions and distributes materials ordered.
  8. Maintains/assists records and monitors all purchase orders/invoices.
  9. Maintains/assists monitoring and maintaining operations of copiers and other machines.
  10. Maintains/assists in collection of classroom inventory.
  11. Maintains/assists in registration and pre-registration.
  12. Maintains/assists entering new students into computer files.
  13. Maintains/assists with Summer School records and reports.
  14. Maintains/assists in student enrollment records.
  15. Maintains/assists in the preparation of Core Data reports.
  16. Maintains/assists in coordinating student withdrawals/enters/reenters.
  17. Maintains/assists in requests of student records and transcripts.
  18. Maintains/assists in creating transcripts for all current and former students.
  19. Maintains/assists the school dismissal system.
  20. Maintains/assists in daily student and visitor sign in/out sheets.
  21. Maintains/assists in preparation of emails and elementary weekly bulletin.
  22. Maintains/assists enrolling Speech/Tiger Cubs students as necessary throughout the year.
  23. Maintains/assists running end of the year reports.
  24. Maintains/assists verifying student daily absences.
  25. Maintains/assists in managing communication of events with parents and community.
  26. Performs other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment:

Salary and work year to be established by the Superintendent.
